“If bees were to disappear from the globe, mankind would have about four years to live”

They are essential to our very existence but they are under threat from every direction.

Beautifully filmed and directed by Oscar nominated Markus Imhoof (The Boat is Full, Les petites Illusions), winner of numerous Best Documentary Awards across international film festivals and stunning cinematography by Jörg Jeshel and Attila Boa, More Than Honey brings sharply into focus our current bee crisis where numerous colonies of bees have been decimated throughout the world with 50% to 90% of bees having disappeared over the past 15 years. With one in three mouthfuls of the food we eat and 80% of plant species dependent on pollination, the honey bee is as indispensable to the economy as it is to man's survival. Narrated by John Hurt.

This outstanding film has received over 10 awardsThis is more than a film about honey. This beautiful, tender film should change the way we perceive honeybees forever.” Ella Pawlik, Word of Difference.

The bee documentary “More Than Honey” is filled with gorgeous cinematography and fascinating details about behavior and anatomy.” Michael O’Sullivan, Washington Post

More Than Honey is free from polemics, but it is an alarming call to action. If you don't become involved in an organized campaign to protect honey bees, you will, at least, never again swat at one of them with the intent to kill. This documentary is fascinating. It's a must see. Jennifer Merin, About.com
