Scavenger Hunt in the Woods

We were delighted to sell 109 tickets for this event, and see so many people come along and enjoy the

mselves on an extremely cold day!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Sunday 1st April 2012EASTER EGG HUNT WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!We were dismayed to find that during the couple of hours between marking out the trail and the start of the Egg Hunt the trail had been vandalised and some markers removed. Luckily we discovered this just in time and were able to replace enough markers such that nobody got seriously lost!

But what a wonderful turnout there was for this event. We had hoped that at least 50 children would enter but we actually sold over 80 tickets in the end so at least 200 (maybe more) children, parents and grandparents followed an exciting trail through the wood, finding clues and even chocolate treats along the way. Best of all every child was able to answer the 8 energy-saving (and in some cases water-saving as well) questions that the Easter Bunny had posed and so earned their Easter Egg. With light refreshments available in The Fisher Room at the end and great weather, this was a fun, social occasion but with a serious message underlying it – we must conserve both our energy and our water.

Thanks to those who spent considerable time in organising this event and particular thanks to Resh in the Cold Ash Post Office & Store who sold most of the tickets for us.
